Working Principle:
The key of the Disc Thermostats – Snap Action Bimetallic Temperature Switches for Appliance & Industrial Control is a bimetallic disc made of two metals pieace with different expansion rates. At normal temperature, the disc stays in one stable shape. As heat rises, the two layers expand at different rates, building internal stress. At the set point, the disc snaps suddenly into its opposite shape. That snap movement pushes a movable contact, opening or closing the circuit in one clean action. Because the movement is instant, there is no slow arcing or contact bounce. When temperature returns to the reset point, the disc snaps back and the contacts restore. Manual reset versions lock out until the user presses the reset button.

Send us the set point, reset type, contact rating, terminal style, lead length and mounting shape. Our engineer will review the thermal and electrical conditions first, then recommend a disc and housing combination that fits.
